Jimi Maroudas

Multi-skilled Jimi Maroudas started his career working as principal assistant engineer at the world-renowned Sing Sing Studios in Melbourne. Here, Maroudas had the opportunity to work with and learn from some of Australia’s (and the world’s) top producers including Charles Fisher (Radio Birdman, Savage Garden, Olivia Newton-John), Paul McKercher (Eskimo Joe, Little Birdy) and David Nicholas (INXS, George), as well as Grammy award winners David Bianco (Mick Jagger, Teenage Fanclub, Tom Petty) and Adam Kaspar (Pearl Jam, REM, Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age, Nirvana), Ulrich Wild (Deftones), Brad Haehnel (Nelly Furtado) and Mark Wallis (U2, The Smiths).
Now Producing, Mixing and Engineering in his own right, Maroudas has displayed his diversity, depth and strength in working with songwriting/musicians at all stages of their careers. Clearly marking his intent - Producing music for Australia’s most revered artists to our youngest and brightest upcoming acts - Maroudas has developed a solid discography including multi-platinum Australian acts such as Tim Rogers, The Living End, and Bertie Blackman, as well as, up and coming bright sparks The Little Stevies and the fully orchestrated “Blue Atlas” album by Charles Jenkins.
Most notable current success came as an invitation to engineer Eskimo Joe’s album “Inshalla” alongside Producer Gil Norton (Foo Fighters, Pixies). For this role, he received a 2009 ARIA nomination for Engineer of the Year.
A talented multi-instrumentalist himself, Maroudas picked up the guitar at the age of four and has since added drums, bass, keys, vocals and songwriting to his repertoire. He has appeared on record doing backing vocals in You Am I’s album “Deliverance” and played guitar on Olivia Newton John’s DUETS record.
In recent times Jimi has been working with a wide range of artists including Darwin-based 5 piece Worldfly, pop songstress Emmy Bryce and the incredible Kimbra, who's single Cameo Lover which Jimi produced and engineered scored him an ARIA award - his second after winning an award for his work on Bertie Blackman's Secrets and Lies in 2009. Kimbra's album Vows has since been certified platinum in Australia and New Zealand and has hit #4, #1 and #14 in Australia, New Zealand and the US Billboard charts respectively.
