[abstract] => [article] => Warner Music Australia are ecstatic to announce that Eskimo Joe’s fourth album, ‘Inshalla’ has stormed in to the ARIA Album Chart at ONE and has sold in excess of GOLD sales in its first week of release. Their hit single, ‘Foreign Land’ continues to hold its position as the #1 Most Played Australian Song on the National Airplay Charts.
Eskimo Joe celebrated the fantastic news in their beloved hometown, Perth, and vocalist Kav Temperley said the following about the chart result: “We’re honoured to be in this position on the charts and owe it all to our great fans, some who have been with us through our entire career and others that have just discovered us recently”
Ed St John, President and CEO, Warner Music Australia said he was “thrilled” with the news. "This is a great day for Eskimo Joe and everyone who has worked so hard to make this album a hit. It’s a real vindication of this amazing band and the wonderful music they’ve created.. Eskimo Joe has delivered the album of their career and it seems like everyone recognises this as an indisputable fact.”
Rolling Stone Magazine declared the album worthy of 4 stars and said the following about the album: “Inshalla has everything: memorable, epic choruses, experimental sounds, wailing guitar heroics …No matter where you decide to lump Eskimo Joe, their musical output remains unchallenged. Inshalla is a solid rock album that stands well alongside any number of classic Aussie records. If Rob Thomas, Chris Martin and co, weren’t quaking in their boots after the Esky’s multi-platinum Black Fingernails, Red Wine, they should be now.” (Rolling Stone – July 2009)
It is with great excitement that we can announce that Eskimo Joe’s show at The Palace, Melbourne on Friday August 7 has SOLD OUT! A second show has been added to the tour on THURSDAY AUGUST 6 at The Palace, Melbourne and tickets are available now through www.eskimojoe.net.
The band are also thrilled to announce the inclusion of fellow West Australian, BOB EVANS as their very special guest on their upcoming ‘Inshalla Australian Tour’ - tickets on sale now from www.eskimojoe.net and the usual outlets

Bob Evans is on the eve of his third album release and he’s hit the ground running. Preparations for his new single “Someone So Much” are now being completed for a radio debut on the 2nd of February. We’re all very excited about the release and Bob’s fresh new look. His new website is due to be up and running in the next few weeks and a spanky new MySpace will be launched this Friday. For a sneak peek of new tracks from his forthcoming album “Goodnight, Bull Creek!”, be sure to join his mailing list!
Eskimo Joe will leap into 2009 with a new album as well. With the final touches underway to the as yet untitled collection of kick ass tunes, the band look forward to a release in Australia in early May as well as new territories Germany, Austria and Switzerland in late-May. Stay tuned for a new track in late March. Another exclusive treat is coming for all those on the Eskimo Joe mailing list. Don’t miss out – sign up!
The guys are also very excited to be returning to Europe and the UK this March and April for a string of dates. Tickets are on sale so be sure to visit their website for all dates and ticketing details.
Jimi Maroudas had a wonderfully busy year in ’08 working with a variety of artists on a range of projects from Chuck Jenkins’ “Blue Atlas” and The Little Stevies’ “Love Your Band” to Bertie Blackman’s forthcoming album and Paris Wells’ “Keep It”. Working alongside Gil Norton (Foo Fighters, Pixies) for the latter part of the year as Engineer on Eskimo Joe’s forthcoming album was a dream fulfilled for Jimi. Needless to say, 2009 is looking so bright he needs extra UV protection.
Andy Lawson is busily building a studio to call home! It was a year of solid projects for the Perth based Producer/Engineer including End of Fashions’ album “Book of Lies” (Produced, Engineered), Fourth Floor Collapse’s album “Victoria” (Mixed), Steve Parkin’s forthcoming album (Mixed) and up-and-coming band Circuits of the Sun’s debut album. Andy has also been working on post-production for Eskimo Joe’s forthcoming album. Now it’s time to set up a big rig for future projects.
Dirt Diamonds Productions snapped up a golden artist, Steve Parkin, in the last year. To kick off 2009, Steve will be opening for Josh Pyke on his three WA dates this February! Grab a ticket to one of these three the fantastic nights on www.heatseeker.com.au and get down early! Steve will be playing a full set of new songs from his forthcoming album, which was produced by Eskimo Joe, mixed by Joel Quartermain and Andy Lawson and mastered by Steve Smart.

The much loved Bob Evans has returned from recording in Nashville filled with inspiration to hit the road for a national tour in November and December ahead of the April/May release of his third album ‘Goodnight, Bull Creek!’.
Bob has spent the past few months recording ‘Goodnight, Bull Creek!’ in Nashville with producer Brad Jones (who also worked on Bob’s previous ARIA Award winning album ‘Suburban Songbook’). The Blind Faith Tour will showcase songs from the new album to give fans an insight into what they can expect when ‘Goodnight, Bull Creek!’ comes out next year.
Joining Bob on stage to help perform the songs in intimate duo mode will be Malcolm Clark (ex The Sleepy Jackson). Lucky Melbourne and Perth fans at the Northcote gig and the Kings Park gig will also get to hear the dynamic new band play the first of many gigs to come.
Bob said, “Blind faith - I know it well. It\'s driven me to recording a new album that does not attempt to recreate the songs of my past and it will be the magic potion I drink as I present these new songs to live audiences for the first time in a format that I\'ve never toured before. How many instruments can two men play at the same time? Will members of the audience, upon being given instruments of percussion, be able to play in time with the music? Will any celebrity musician friends agree to join us onstage? These are just some of the questions we will be seeking answers to as we wind our way around the country throughout November on the "Blind Faith Tour" of 2008.”
